TrashCache Recover will surely become your best companion! It will list all the files you trashed a while ago, thinking they’re gone for ever.

No,no! You don’t need Norton Utilities or TechTool Pro! (BTW, these are realy excellent tools which should not be compared to TrashCache Recover!)
Simply launch TrashCache Recover, click “Search files” and it will list all those trashed files (until you rebuild your desktop). Now click “Recover selection” and bring the files you’ve selected to life again. Watch in the folder “Recovered Trash Elements” which will appear on the desktop.
That’s it!
System needs:
68K or PowerPC macintosh running MacOS 8 up to 9.0.x. And TechTool Pro must be present to take advantage of TrashCache Recover. In the TechTool Pro control pannel, don’t forget to activate the Trasch cache!!!
